There is something so indulgent about using so little on a page. This website that we just designed for Tallulah on Thames, a fabulous restaurant nestled in Newport, RI, has very few elements – the white background itself a large part of its beauty – which allows the photos of the food to receive all the attention they deserve. After all, one look at these plates and you’re dialing for reservations.
When the design is minimalist, every element needs to be carefully chosen. We wanted to keep all of the pages at the same height, so we implored some super sexy little scroll bars that work perfectly with the concept AND preform perfectly on mobile devices. The owners in this case have a great aesthetic and were great collaborators on this project, and I think it’s fair to say that we are all pretty happy with the final product.
