Your web designer connects to that server and uploads your website files. Depending on the type of website you have, the cost of hosting can vary. If your website has database functionality, or loads of content that can be streamed or otherwise downloaded, hosting fees will be much higher. Most websites only require basic hosting, which comes at a very reasonable price.
